# Create a selection from a layer

In CS you used to be able to create a selection by “ctrl+clicking” a layer. it would make a selection of everything on that layer. How do you create a selection from an object on a layer in CS2? everytime i use the “ctrl+click” on a layer it just selects it for grouping.
