# Create var from stripped var?

Hi…

this should be a quickie…

Can anyone tell me how to strip the last digit (the number) from a var value that looks like this: \_root.my\_mc1  
\<karmakat\> and make it another var

ie. if a var, say **myclip** happens to be equal to \*\*\_root.my\_mc1 \*\*for instance, how can i make a var that strips this variable of **\_root.my\_mc** and return **1**
