# Creating a backend

I want to build a backend for a client with an XML/AS3 photo gallery site, to allow them to edit / upload / delete content and was wondering what peoples thoughts were on the best practise. I understand that a purely PHP -\> XML browser based system would be the norm with server interaction, but I fancy giving it a go adding on Flash, i.e. Flash -\> PHP -\> XML. Would Flex (which I havent used yet) be best? Are there any examples online to have a look at?
