# \[CS3|AS2\]Textfield: Setting alpha in '.textColor' and '.backgroundColor'

Folx;  
Does the manual document the setting of transparency in [COLOR=“Blue”][FONT=“Verdana”]TextField.textColor[/FONT][/COLOR] or [COLOR=“Blue”][FONT=“Verdana”]TextField.backgroundColor[/FONT][/COLOR], not just the [COLOR=“Blue”][FONT=“Verdana”]\_alpha[/FONT][/COLOR] of the TextField altogether? If so, I can’t seem to find it.:crying:  
In addition to the RGB/hex values, the color palette in the [FONT=“Verdana”]Properties[/FONT] panel allows you to set transparency in %, yes, but can this also be achieved programmatically?
