# Cutting out pictures and animating in flash

what is the best way to cut somthing out and use it in flash? I have tried photoshop but when it is imported the part that is cut out is white. I have tried cutting out my picture in flash, but the erase button just wont work for some reason. Does anyone know the answers to my questions?
