# Dealing with objects over the edge of an animation

Can anyone tell me how to set up a movie so that when any part of an object goes off the edge of the white area, it is not shown?- you know when you are viewing the swf and you click ‘show all’, you can still see all the bits which are outside the normal area?  
I am completely new to flash, so please keep it simple!
