# Designing for printable web page

I need to make some layouts that will be printable from a browser window and they also need to be 8.5x11 layouts.  
If i were designing for print output directly, I would just create a 300dpi 8.5x11 layout and be done with it. But this will be viewed by a browser then printed.  
What do I need to do to ensure proper output of this layout?
