# dispatchEvent() function

Does anyone know where I may find more information on this function other than the one paragraph at the adobe site?

When you call dispatchEvent( mouseEvent ) by itself, with no specific target. Does it go into the eventflow and will be caught by all objects on the screen regardless of which timeline or layer?
