My jquery sliding shelf is being served via a 3rd party javascript include. Unlike scriptaculous, jquery works spectacularly under these circumstances.

I would like to have the option of sliding my content over rather than pushing down my main content. I am wondering how the z-index of the sliding div would even know it has a higher stacking order than the main content on the template page.
