# Drawing a Halo

hey guys

I’m tryign to use photoshop to draw a halo (with a section missing), similar to the earthlink logo ([http://www.earthlink.com](http://www.earthlink.com)). You will notice a black line around the orange one with sections missing. I want to find out how to draw this? I know i can make the orange one using the elipse tool and making the fill 0% and then adding a stroke layer, but that doesn’t quite work out for the black circle/halo.

Please help me out.
