# Dynamic Text Inside Symbol Display Problems

I am working on a file that pulls data from an external XML file and displays it inside dynamic text fields (which I learned from a fantastic tutorial right here on [kirupa.com](http://kirupa.com)) The problem is that when I put those text fields inside a symbol so that they can all be animated at once the text ceases to display. I know that all my action script is working because when they are in the main stage they work fine.

I have already searched the forums for this and found this post ([http://www.kirupa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=206252](http://www.kirupa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=206252)) which, regrettably, did not work for me. I am working in Flash 8 but would like to export this to work with the Flash 6 player. Can anyone help me?
