# Dynamic text masking?

How do we apply a mask to dynamic text rather than static text?, for a reason it does not work, how do we get around this

embed the font… if you don’t know how to embed a font, search the forums, it’s been asked way too many times before

Ok will do that, I have another little problem. I am using a small gradient as a mask, and it does not appear to work as it should, it all looks good, I used a static text this time, but the gradient does not have any impact, from black to white. would you like the file to look at ?

A mask can only be on or off, if that makes sense. You can’t put transparency on it, and a gradient isn’t going to do anything. You can make your mask whatever colour you want, it will always work the same.
