How do i calculate a week ? or even use universal week numbers [i.e Jan1st - Jan7th = 1]

I have some xml data with DATES, i would like to display this data for a week, so im finding this impossible so if i had some algorithm i could store universal week in the data and sort it using that… which ever is easiest ! :hangover:
