hey if someone STARTS a forum topic they have the option of subscribing to it and having replies emailed to them.
That probably causes a lot of repeat questions. In fact, someone might read a post begun by someone else, and want to subscribe to it, so they get an email hoping for the answer.
my suggestion is to put the ‘‘notify me of replies to this topic’’ right next to the reply textField in the post.

i think if you reply to a topic, you get notified of further replies - its not just if you are the author.

Do you mean you want an option where you can subscribe to a thread even if you don’t reply to that thread?
