# \*embarassed\* Can't get button to click

Hi guys. Bit embarassed with this one as I have been trying actionscript since February.

I have a button that is inside a movieClip (so it can be called and removed using script). It is called by another button and attaches properly, but when I try to click it, it is not tracing as being pressed. It may be a scope issue, but I really can’t see why - thought I knew everything about buttons by week one ![](http://forum.kirupa.com/uploads/kirupa/1105/8ed432c9025fd9ca.gif)

Sorry this is so basic (at least I hope it is.)

Bit too much script to post, so I have zipped up a stripped down version of my .fla and .as. It’s probably something unbelievably simple but I just can’t see it so thanks in advance for your help.
