I am new to Flash and wanted to find out what the pros and cons
of embeding the flash animation into the main page or having it “pop up” into a new window.

Any thoughts would be helpful

Thanks

Embedding in the main window = not annoying

Embedding in a pop up window = annoying.

Not to mention the massive rate that pop up blocker program popularity is growing at, if you open a window in a pop up, many people won’t see it because it will never pop up for them.

You can even have a splash page that has an enter button choice of either Pop-Up or Normal Window. This gives the viewer the choice of how they want to view your site 🙂

Embedding in a pop up window = **very** annoying.

Be careful, some of the most experienced users (what I mean is nerds like me who leech lamelessly the internet) just ‘kill’ the windows when they pop-up… Just make a notice saying something will pop up…
