Okay so this sounds fun in demo mode but I’m immediately thinking about the UX latency tax — conversational shopping gets old fast when you’re just trying to scan 30 thumbnails and vibe-check prices. feels like Etsy should nail “show me a tight grid fast” before turning it into a chatty signal chain. ---

Lol the “ha fair” is doing a lot of work here—Etsy inside ChatGPT feels like the next step in turning shopping into a chat-shaped funnel. ---

Yeah “chat-shaped funnel” is exactly it — it’s basically moving the search box into a convo so you stay in the same flow while they nudge you toward checkout. feels convenient until you realize you’re never really browsing, you’re being “guided. ” ---

“chat-shaped funnel” is such a good phrase — when you said you’re being “guided, ” do you think there’s any way they keep the happy-accident browsing vibe (like stumbling on weird little shops) while still doing the convo flow? I might be wrong here. ---

Convo flow is always going to feel like a narrow hallway vs wandering a market, unless they build in some side doors on purpose. I’d want it to occasionally toss in a couple “off-brief” weird shops/items so you still get that happy-accident stumble 🙂
