# Externally loading SWF V 1 movie?

I have always built my flash movies with a central SWF file that loads in external SWF. However, when I have looked at some template sites and some tutorials recently I noticed that many are 1 SWF file that use buttons to scroll between “pages”?

What are peoples opinions on best way to built a flash site or does it not matter as long as the files are small.
