# Extremely noob question

Hello.

I have a question:  
Why in the world does my linker report [SIZE=1]LINK : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol [\_\_DllMainCRTStartup@12](mailto:__DllMainCRTStartup@12) [SIZE=2]? My app is a DLL and requires this thing and just jams up during linking. I know this is a stupid question because I googled it and found thousands of posts, each with different causes and solutions.[/SIZE][/SIZE]
