# \[F9-2.0\] What's wrong with this Listener?

“There is no method with the name ‘addEventListener’,” says the compiler.

OK, so I did something wrong; but what?  
ee1 is a checkbox.

```auto
 
// Create Listener Object.
var ee1Listener:Object = new Object();
 
// Assign function to Listener Object.
ee1.click = function(event_obj:Object) {
     _root.vSubtotal += ee;
      _root.vSubtotal_c += ee_c;
      _root.vSubtotal_d += ee_d;
      vSubtotal_d = _root.vSubtotal_d;
      vSubtotal = _root.vSubtotal;
      vSubtotal_c = _root.vSubtotal_c;
}
 
// Add Listener.
ee1.addEventListener("click", ee1Listener);

```
