# Fake a music spectrum

Hi All,

I want to fake a music spectrum analyzer like so.

[mc] [mc] [mc] [mc] [mc]  
[mc] [mc] [mc] [mc] [mc]  
[mc] [mc] [mc] [mc] [mc]  
[mc] [mc] [mc] [mc] [mc]  
[mc] [mc] [mc] [mc] [mc]

I guess the idea would be for each column select a random number between 1-5. Then for instance say the number was 3. Would you duplicate movie clips until you got 3 mcs stacked on each other OR make 2 of the mcs \_visible = false. Any other ideas? Some code or threads would be great.
