# FileReference

Hi

I’ve been using file reference in AS3 for users to download PDF’s and images. This works great as the user gets the save as dialogue box which I really like.

I’ve now got to make sure edits to an older project that uses AS2. I could use a getURL with a \_blank but this isn’t quite what I want.

Can the file reference be used in AS2 and if so how would i write it? If its not available is there any other way of doing this?
