# Finalfantasy like world map trouble \[MX2004\]

Hi there! I do realize it is Thanksgiving so there are probably less people to help me ☹ but for those who can…

I’ve recently become interested in rpg styled flash games. I suppose I am an “intelligent” noob. 😃 oh the irony. Well I’ve made a little boy who has 4 frame labels: “up”, “down”, “left”, and “right.” As the user pushes the \<Left\> key the little boy turns left.

However, I stumble here. How do you add motion to his walk? while allowing him to switch frames?  
Left\> Left movement & animation  
Down\> Down movement & animation

And another thing,  
When the user (me) presses and holds the movement key, the little boy shows that motion, but after a few seconds he freezes, as if I froze him in an ice frost. ☹ poor boy.
