# Find what MC an instance is "of"? ActionScript 2.0

[COLOR=black][FONT=Arial]I would like to know the function or \*\*variable in an MC _instance which stores the library MC which the instance is an “instance of”._ \</mouthful\>[/FONT][/COLOR]

[COLOR=black][FONT=Arial](I know in most cases one would want to create an instance from a MovieClip, but in this case I specifically want to do just the opposite: put code into an instance, command-line style, to have it trace() it’s MC’s ID.)[/FONT][/COLOR]
