# \[Flash 8\] help regarding dynamic photo/thumbnail loading

hi there!

i’ve been going through a lot (and i mean a lot) of tutorials online regarding photo galleries etc, and not many (ok none) seem to facilitate shrinking the actual photo for use as a thumbnail (possibly due to the performance limitations). my project won’t have that problem, as it will be stored on an internal network. basically, i want to dynamically load a picture and shrink it for use as a thumbnail in a gallery.

i’ve tried searching the forums here, but i don’t really know what i’m searching for…  
any pointers? i’m ultimately trying to implement something like [this,](http://www.kirupa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=93543) but baby steps i suppose… =s

p.s. i’m using flash professional 8… is that the same as flash 8? rofl n00b’d
