# Flash/AS help needed for newbie

Have only recently started to learn flash and actionscript. Was hoping one of the experienced guys here could help me out. Basically I am trying to make a disolving banner. The banner has 4 images at the start and then there are another 4 images that appear.

Obviously could do the fade in and out using alpha and tweens but was wondering if there was a way of doing it using actionscript and perhaps randomising the loading of the images so they can appear at any point in the banner? Wouldn’t this would create a smaller file size and quicker loading time??

Any help or pointers in direction of a tutorial for this would be greatly appreciated.

yup look at the tuts on the main page and search the forums

hints:

tween class  
loadClip  
random functions are tricker but can be done

they will improve load time but whatever it is loading in will take the same time unless compressed effectively for the web

Thanks for the pointers. Are the images stored in an external file (like XML) or can all of them be loaded at the start of the animation and appear when called by the actionscript?
