You can try this tutorial, it’s really basic, but it’s the first tutorial I’ve ever did and it helped me a lot, hope it helps you as well. =)

You just successfully answered wtf I was doing wrong…

That may be one of the best tutorials for newvie/intermediates… Thanks a mil for making my night…

One question though…

Do I need to load the WELCOME screen into an external movie as well? For instanc e right now it comes up and the vertical doors open, the background fades within the doors to the viewing area and the elastic banner comes up…

do I goto and external movie here for my welcome message?

or put it on the main time line and erase it and then go to whatever button pushed?

make sense?

hey all, i find it best to have the welcome screen a external , if you mean a welcome screen as a home page, if so the reason being is that if it easier when working with variables for tranisition animations. Thats why i do it. 😏

All i use is a frame action that loads the external movie into the target, or level which every method you choose to do it. then when you click a button on your nav, it will basically be replaced the welcome screen by your selected sections’ swf. But with this way you would need a home button of some sort to get back to the welcome screen if you choose to.

hope this helps. 😉

Do you have a copy of an open source fla to go by? My nav is 6 buttons, 7 including the splash/welcome screen. So I load the site interface and then load the transition screen that turns into the content or what have you???

um, example maybe?
