# Flash Remoting? The basics for a noob please!

Hi , I’m trying to get my head round Remoting for Flash 8 using [ASP.net](http://ASP.net) in VB code. I have searched the entired internet, and 99% of tutorials are for Flash MX and AS 1, and converting them to Flash 8 AS 2 is a nightmare for me! The updated documentation from Macromedia on the subject is confusing and I have spent the past 3 days trying to fathom it out, i’m going bald!

Has anyone manged to set up just a simple click a button in a flash movie and have it pass a variable to your [ASP.net](http://ASP.net) page??
