I’m gettin’ pretty tired of people presenting that argument, i see it all over the web, digg, blogspot, people on my MSN contact list etc. Heres some points and counter points Not SEO friendly * * * It is now, all you have to know is how to do it right, and it was fairly SEO friendly before with javascript etc People can’t use screen readers * * * 99 percent of the time, my target audience is not blind or disabled people, that may be a bit harsh but its true, and if my target audience was blind or disabled people, i sure as hell wouldn’t be building a website to get to them Navigation is poor on most flash sites * * * Whos fault is that, the designer, or possibly the user for having room temprature IQ. Hammers can be used to built, great wonderful things, or it can be used to smash your face in, blame the person holding the hammer, not the hammer itself. Long intros * * * Again, the designer not flash You can’t bookmark the page, IE show a certain part of a flash website to a friend \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_- Yeah, there are ways, its called swfadress, its possible. Believe me. Every other point i’ve heard * * * Flash has few limitations, if you want an interface to do something, it can be done with flash. Its up to the designer to do it right, and make for a nice user experiance. If somebody builds a whole ecommerce website out of flash, thats their choice, and if it sucks, thats their problem. So one more time i’d like to blame crappy designers in general. If you have any more points post them, my friend on MSN argued until he was blue in the face that flash sucked, kinda ticked me off.
