# FMX - Why movies images or swf loaded

Can someone tell me why images or swf loaded dynamically to an empty MC can´t assume button events.

I´m tring to build mc that load images or swf whit a preloader, but when it loads I can´t put a button event on this mc.

Please can someone explain this to me

olá,

you can only add new methods and/or properties after the new movie/jpg finishes loading because the methods and properties of the target movie clip are deleted by the loadMovie()

so, you can preload the file and only then, assign the onRelease() or whatever to the movie clip.

a workaround, is using another movie clip, i.e.,  
target\_mc is is inside some\_mc:

```auto

some_mc.target_mc.loadMovie("external.swf");
some_mc.onRelease = function(){
 //do something
};

```
