# Freeing RAM for Photoshop (Need quick response)

Hello,

I am working with a rather large psd (4464x3450px at 72dpi) and when I try to edit text boxes or save the PSD it says something like “no available ram”. I really need to get this project done quick, and it is really preventing me from making much progress. Since I can’t save I can’t really do a restart.

I have already collapsed/merged the layers that I can. Is there any method or thing in PS that I can do to decrease RAM usage other than just working with smaller files?

I wish PS had better support for this. You would think that they would at least be able write to ROM temporarily to free ram so that a process can be completed if it fails.

Did I say this is pretty urgent?
