hello, i am very new to flash and especially flash mx. i am attempting to create a complete flash site but am encountering problems. i have followed the tutorial and everything worked wonderfully creating the site designed by kirupa. but, when i tried to create my own nothing seems to work. I believe my problem has something to do with the navigation menu. I cannot figure out how to import it into the library for my index animation and still be able to edit it and see the various layers. whenever i get it into the library it comes as a complete movie clip and there are no individual layers… meaning… i have to redesignate buttons and it still doesn’t work… being new to flash i’m sure my problem is something quite simple that i just don’t know… but any guidance would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

is the navi bar on a seperate swf?

yes… that’s what i thought i’m supposed to do… make a seperate navigation bar and import it into the library of the index… like in the tutorial… is that a wrong assumption? was it made in a different way?
