# Functions and variable

I know this might seem like a stupid question  
but how do i assign a var to a function

ID = evt.target.selectedItem.id;  
_level0.map\_cont.mapContainer.map.map.markerContainer.marker_[ID].mcContainer.ActivateChampDetails();

I know this is the wrong procedure.
