Is it possible to create a mask with “fuzzy” or “blurred” edges so that there isnt such a hard line between the masked and non-masked stuff? More of a flashlight type effect.

I tried to use a gradient to create my mask, but you cant seem to select “no color” as one of the two colors! Is there a way to do this (in AS2 / Flash 8) without having to import an image that already has the appropriate semi-transparent edges?

Thanks.
