# GAIM Question (background color)

Hey everyone,  
I’m using Gaim on my laptop as an alternative to AIM, but I can’t seem to figure out how to decrease the size of the smileys that appear. In AIM, turning down the font size usually got the smiley size decreased also. It doesn’t seem to work for me on GAIM. My smileys are huge compared to the text size.

Anyone who has IM’ed me before (AIM: kirupacom) knows I’m a smiley addict. Not using smileys is not an option for me 😛

I think you need a different smiley set. Poke around in the preferences, there should be an option to change the smileys 🙂

You might need to install some more smiley sets first, here: [http://gaim.sourceforge.net/themes.php](http://gaim.sourceforge.net/themes.php)

EDIT: And it works well!
