# Gallery pics awkward

Hello - I’m trying to finish up this flash but no matter how I resize the pictures, they still come out slightly broken. (I’m referring to the large pic, not the thumbnail).

Are you resizing them in flash? Try resizing them outside of flash to fit what you want then import them back in.

No, they are in an image directory (with an xml file) and I resized them with Image Ready … but no matter how I resized them to fit that box, they keep on being broken up … (for example, I had that problem with the thumbnails and so I resized them to fit the area in which they are in. But this does not seem to work with the large pic.)

Check your export quality. Go to File \> Publish Settings \> Click on the Flash Tab and check the JPEG quality slider.
By defualt it’s set on 50, try bumping it up to 90.

Nope … by the way, I’m using the component called Thumbnail Gallery (if you know it) and although it allows me to change the thumbnail w and h, it doesn’t allow me adjust the large pic settings …

I think I figured out half the problem: the component autostretches the large pic to fit it’s size. Is there any way for me to make it fix?
