honestly i suggest you get a flash mx book, mostly because theres alot of things that have changed in flash mx since ver 5, alot of scripting has changed and been deprecated or have other methods of achieving the same results. So i suggest getting a flash mx book and not a flash 5 book, animation is the same but if youre more into scripting get a flash mx book dont ask me which one as im still looking into buying a actionscript book that will explain the code as its putting it to work if i find said book ill post it here and let everyone know

If you want to make Flash games, then I suggest trying Gary Rosenzweig’s book.

Otherwise, go with Colin Moock.
