# General Flash Development Question

When people design their flash sites, do they create the site from within Macromedia Flash. Or is the easiest method for creating a site and all its elements from within a program like Macromedia Fireworks. If so what is the best format to output the elements. Would \*.png be the option? I would appreciate some direction for this subject.

well…

what i usually do it draw my layout in flash, export to eps and add my effects in photoshop. drawing in flash can really keep your file size down. for example

a 500x500 sqare box will be much smaller in file size compared to the same box created in photoshop

and on the other hand, a 500x500 jpeg with a lot of with color/alpha gradients in it is way less processor intensive that a vectroized version. I had to design an interface with a lot of color gradients and semi-transparent layers, what i did was do the whole thing on Flash, take a screenshot and import that again as a bitmap… 🙂
