GitHub Copilot is switching to usage-based billing from June 1, with usage eating into GitHub AI Credits instead of the old flat setup.

Yeah, feels like the kind of change that quietly reshapes who keeps it turned on day-to-day. usage-based pricing always adds that little mental meter.

Yeah that “mental meter” thing is real — i’ve bailed on tools before just because i didn’t wanna think about whether a random spike would cost me. copilot’s whole appeal for me is leaving it on and forgetting it exists.

Same here — anything that makes me “play accountant” while I’m in flow gets disabled fast. I don’t want my autocomplete to feel like a taxi meter ticking while I’m trying to think.
