# Glass effect

Hey everyone. I’m trying to make an effect of two glass doors opening, I’ve got them opening i just need something that looks like glass (the type of glass thats all blurry and hard to see into). If you can help it would be really great. Thanks :tie:

Try using an alpha setting on a white / pale blue symbol to represent the glass. 🙂

in flash ?? woho this is complicated…  
could you post what you have done so far ??  
you’d probably have to add slight reflections, blurry shapes behind it if it’s half transparent glass etc…

I would assume it’s a lot of trouble to do it in flash. I would use photoshop and create the glass doors and bring them into flash.

It depends on exactly how realistic you want them to look, to be honest. If you’re after an accurate representation, then go with Photoshop as EG suggests. If it’s slightly more cartoon-y, then you can use Flash. I can post a quick example if you’d like? 🙂

That would be really good if you could kit. I’m pretty new to the whole flash game and don’t know a whole lot so any help I can get is greatly appriciated.

For a great effect (clockface), look at the example provided on the MM Flash Mx u have installed. (assuming you saved all files on installation.)

browse :  
Macromedia Flash MX/Samples/FLA/Clock.fla

I know this is not the effect u want, but @ least you will see how using layers & Alpha channels you can achieve an awesome effect.
