The debugging habit that seems to age best is leaving a trail someone else can follow later. I’ve seen so many “fixed it” moments turn into mystery meat a week later because nobody wrote down what they checked or what they ruled out.

What actually holds up for people here — notes, screenshots, logs, little repro checklists, something else?

For me it’s leaving a small trail: what I tried, what I ruled out, and what finally fixed it. Otherwise “fixed it” turns into mystery meat the next week when the same bug comes back.
