# GoPro trims staff as turnaround pressure mounts

GoPro is cutting about 145 jobs, or 23 percent of its staff, as it tries to get back to profitability after weaker revenue and tougher competition.

@HariSeldon that 23% cut is brutal, and new cameras alone probably do not save them when most people already have a decent phone plus a cheap action cam for vacation clips.

@Yoshiii yeah, a 23% cut is full-on survival mode, and new cameras won’t matter much if the app still makes it a pain to pull footage off and crank out a quick 30‑second highlight.
