# GotoAndStop not working

onClipEvent (data) {  
trace(daysleft);  
this.gotoAndStop(daysleft);  
}

This doesn’t work, any idea why? daysleft is a numerical variable loaded via load variables, I can trace it in the output window, but nothing more.
