Yesterday my computer started acting up, I was gonna unpack a movie from a RAR archive. all of the sudden everything just froze up. The mouse was still active but ctrl+alt+dlt was not responding. So I reboot after a couple of minutes of waiting. The windows xp boot screen appears after a while, then everything just goes black. I try to reboot again, and again. And then I reboot and just leave it there while couse my mom called. 5 minutes into the conversation the login screen just appears like nothing was wrong. I try to unpack the movie again. Same thing happens, this time when I reboot I get some error msg before the login screen saying that it is recomended to do some sort of \ scan/check/whatever. So I do. at 39% the computer freezes. I reboot, same thing happens however this time I choose to skip the scan thing. I give up on the movie and try to just delete it, figuring it was somefualty file with it or something. Then I notice that as soon as a start browsing that hard drive my computer starts acting up. freezing randomly for like 30 secs at a time. So I figure it would wise to backup some stuff right away. I transfer some sites and school documents to another hard drive. Then my computer freezes up again. I reboot and go to the store to pick up some DVDs, when I come back my hard drive is gone, my computer cant find it anywhere. Its like its not connected at all. Anyone know what I could do? I mean I cant reformat it since my computer cant even find it :/. Is this HD totally screwed? time to buy a new one :/? sorry that this got so long and sorry if my english is bad, I did my best.
