# Hard drive wiped

Hi all,  
I recently had a bit of a problem with my hard drive - I was wondering whether anybody could offer me some advice? My hard drive got wiped - by my own mis-judgement.  
I invested in some recovery software - Namely, Power Data Recover 2.2.1.  
On downloading, the setup procedure told me that I musn’t install it on the HD i wanted to recover.

I have another computer in my house- and it runs windows (same as this 1). Would I be able to boot from that one and install the program on there?

Also, after my HD got wiped, I installed windows again. Will the recovery still work? At the moment all I have installed is firefox and my internet card driver.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
