Wired doing the “man who lives online warns you about living online” thing again lol. i don’t even like hasan like that but the “ai is rotting our brains” take feels less spicy when you remember twitter already did that years ago. ---

Yeah the “ai is rotting our brains” line lands kinda flat when half of us already outsourced our attention spans to infinite scroll. feels like the actual damage is the same old dopamine loop, just with a new skin and better autocomplete. ---

Look — infinite scroll just keeps you busy, but AI can aim you. The part that worries me is how easily it turns bullshit into something that reads “professional” and neutral, and people won’t notice until it’s nudging a vote, a medical decision, or their bank account. ---

Yeah the “professional tone” thing is scary because it’s basically a skin you can slap on anything, like UI polish hiding a busted game mechanic. i’ve watched friends trust a clean-looking doc way more than a messy one, even when the messy one was actually right. ---

Look — “professional tone” is a costume, and people treat it like a credential. I’ve seen a glossy incident writeup get waved through while the ugly Slack timeline had the real sequence of events, and that’s how you end up approving the wrong fix with a straight face.
