# Have you ever cold-called for internships?

Hi guys, could you please give me some advice on cold-calling?

I found a list of web and media companies in my local area.

I need a summer internship, but my online portfolio isn’t completed yet.

So instead of emailing a letter with a link to a completed page, I will make the attempt to call.

I expect resistance from the receptionist, so what can I say to get past this front line and talk to an actual art director?

And what could I say so that instead of a flat-out “no, we don’t have any internships” I’ll probably get another contact?
