# \[HELP\] AS3 MovieClip(root) removal

I am working on a project that deals with many conditions, like a choose your own adventure. The player uses the “Proceed” button to advance the main timeline, but once they are met with a choice they will dive deeper into the story and the Child movieclip will continue it. How would I target the “Proceed” button from within another movieclip in order to remove it so that the player wont accidentally advance the MAIN timeline?
