Help build KirupaVille - [Origin of KirupaVille]

I won’t comment that first one… :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

What?!? :beam:

Someone might make a Kirupa beach, I was just being prepared!

roflmao.

Well I’ll at least have a pond on my plot, so you’re welcome to show up in those ‘pants’ anytime. :stuck_out_tongue:

Question: Why isn’t this done as vector art?

Hehe, I think maybe I’d better make the beach area as my plot…

Answer: Don’t know. I guess with vector we could always resize easier, but I think pixel art is meant to be exactly that - just working with 1 x 1 squares… Oh I don’t know.

oooooh… bikini

yeah… I guess my point would be this… and it’s just something to think about, because I know everyone is into this pixel art stuff. (It is tediously entertaining, I must admit)

If this were to be done, as people have in the past, as an interactive online world, the simplicity of the conceptual art involves lends itself better to Vector formats, AND would be imensely smaller than going with imported gifs and such.

The difference would be the total difference of all objects on the board programed, verses, rendered. programming an object will always win out.

and, as Kitiara mentioned, the ability to scale to ANY level and have the exact same object, without pixelation, is a boon to a game, or an interactive chat environment. Zooming out to see the whole city working would be crazy

just thoughts

oooooh… bikini

And you’re not nabbing that my friend.

I know what you guys are like with items of lingerie…

David has a point with the vector thing. It would be sooo cool to be able to zoom in and out of a pixel environment without any loss of quality.

In fact, isn’t there a Snap To Pixel option in Flash? Maybe it’s possible to do pixel art in MX…

Kitiara sits in a ‘Thinker’-like pose and ponders upon this conundrum

[SIZE=1]ps: kit, what is conundrum? :P[/SIZE]

[EDIT] new one below

One thing: Lost’s trousers are nowhere near baggy enough.

[SIZE=1]PS: It means problem or puzzle…[/SIZE]

you mean his pants? :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, he said it was ok, but I can change…

new one: geek added (electron geek)

[EDIT] [EDIT] new one on my last post on this thread (royal request):stuck_out_tongue:

Wow guig0,
That picture is really cool  I have black hair (being all Asian and stuff). Besides that, the picture is awesome!

Cheers!
Kirupa :rambo:

what about now?

=)

[EDIT] new one on my last post on this thread

…prints this picture and hangs on wall behind comp

Cheers!
Kirupa :cyclops:

This thread is growing SO fast i cant read it all. but i sat down and did…

anyway, Gug i will try to make my own…if worst comes to worst…lol

-Mike

lol… Love it guig0… Wicked kewl…

Anyways… “trousers”… I donb’t remember calling my pants trousers in a loong time…

And I call my “underpants” - underrooos… hehe…

Anyways… Looking real good… And btw… You can upload pixel art into Flash in a unique way that would allow you to keep the “semi-feel” of pixelation with the zooming vector graphics of flash…

HOW:q:

Well… Not dynamically…

But creat the file and name it in any style… .jpg, .bmp or .gif… Or some mroe I believe… Place it in your flash document…

Then go to modify menu I believe… And move down to Trace Bitmap… *only appears if you ahve the picture selected…

A box will appear asking you to define a couple of settings… The drawing size… or something like that… Hold up… opens flash…

Yeha… Go to Trace Bitmap… Let the color threshold at 100… And put the next line of information at 1 or 2… Make sure it goes around many corners as well…

Here is the final picture of ahmed’s profile when change over… It kind-a keeps it’s appearance pretty well I think.

Not too shabby eh? Turned out to be about the same thing… I’d place the .swf file on here… But my lazy butt is going back to bed… Stupid headache…

Later Man

Just tested it, works fine :beam:

but how will it work on larger pics? I mean, instead of graphics, we just make it into pure math and code… vectorize it i mean…

large pics will require heavy CPU’s… :-\

BTW, how do you look like man, I want to make a mini you for this pic:
