# Help, flash embed in html refuses to work!

Hi all,
i have encountered a problem in building a site for one of my friends. Its basically a very simple flash .swf (menu and some animation) embedded into a standard html page with no javascript of fancy stuff. The flash displays fine when i view the page in the folder i use it to work in, but when i copy and paste both the page.html and the flash.swf out onto another place, say the desktop, or onto a thumbdrive, the flash fails to display entirely. I have redone the html again and again with no effect, also using both firefox 3 and ie7 there is no difference.
Could any of you experts please advise me as to what on earth is going on here? is it a bug? Thanks…
